In the Oscar nominated film Heroin(e), one of the people mention about a rehab being too close to them. The worry clearly is about knowing people at the treatment facility and that is something that happens with in-person local addiction treatment facilities. When attending somewhere local the chance of running into a familiar person is greatly increased, which as it can be a good thing, it can also be triggering and lead to relapse. One of the advantages of telehealth is that a person’s treatment is completely private and removes the chance of any other people in treatment influencing them.
